JK Design, LLC was founded by John & Kathlene Miller. In 2013, with child number seven on the way, John Miller left a 13 year career working in Doors, Trim & Hardware in the multi-family market.
He and Kathlene opened JK Design, LLC with the intention of remodeling and flipping houses. It did not take long for customers with whom John had relationships to learn that the new company had been formed and requests to do multi-family began. Initially, John and Kathlene resisted the requests. As it was, they had no warehouse, no vendor accounts, trucks or employees to speak of. The only thing they did have was the good relationships they had built over the years. The early days were tough. They scrambled to secure vendors, hire a skeleton crew, and delivered materials on a flatbed trailer towed by a 2004 Dodge Durango.
Through it all they worked hard to make sure the customer saw only the success and never felt the struggle. Nowadays they’ve grown to be a multimillion-dollar provider in the industry. They’ve added some dedicated people, renovated historic warehouses in Social Circle, Ga to house Exterior and Interior door assembly lines, domestic and imported millwork, wire and custom shelving, framed and polished edge mirrors and more all while holding fast to the principles of dedication to doing “whatever it takes “, learned during those early days.
